Twitter remains one of the most powerful social media and marketing tools online. It makes sense, then, to want to combine the power and exposure of your tweets with your WordPress blog. Whether it’s to display feedback and testimonials from satisfied customers, keep clients up-to-date on the latest news and happenings from your company, or simply to share ideas with like minded people as they pop into your head, there are a myriad of reasons why you’d want to embed tweets into your blog. Here’s how to go about doing it:
The WordPress Tweet Embed Plugin
Luckily for those that aren’t HTML savvy, you don’t have to be code-literate to merge your tweets and blog. Even the beginning blogger can easily setup a WordPress site or Twitter account, and the same hold true for sharing one within the other.
Downloading the WordPress Tweet Embed Plugin is the easiest option for embedding tweets onto your blog. Start by downloading and installing the plugin, and then heading over to your Twitter account in a separate tab. When you find the tweet you’d like to share with your blog followers, click on it to open up the full page. Click on the address bar in your web browser and copy the URL of the page containing the tweet.
Next, head back over to your WordPress dashboard. Open up a New Post from the Visual tab. This is the same place you’d go to write and share a new blog post, picture, text, etc. In this space, paste the URL you copied from the Twitter page. Make sure that it’s on a completely separate line from all other text.
Finally, click on the Save Draft button to save your tweet. You can then head over to Preview to see how your embedded tweet will look within your blog post.
