In Word 2010, you can easily change the appearance of the page colour. You can also choose to apply various fill effects, including Gradient, Texture, Pattern and Picture. The default colour options depend on the themes and colours selected for the document.
- Open the document to which you would like to add the page colour.
- On the Page Layout tab, click Page Color in the Page Background group to display the colour palette. Hover your mouse over each colour to see a live preview of it in your document.
- Either choose the colour for your page background or click Fill Effects… to select a gradient, texture, pattern or picture. To find out more about the various fill effects, see the How to select various Fill Effects tutorial
NOTE: To choose an alternative colour, click More Colours… to view the full colour spectrum.
- If you decide to that you would like to remove any page colour that you had previously applied, click the Page Layout tab, click Page Color in the Page Background group and select No color from the colour palette that appears.
