In order to get the most from your Opera browser, you need to know how to use its more advanced features. By now you know how to speed up your web browsing on slower connections, use some of the keyboard shortcuts, set up e-mail accounts, control popups, and synchronize bookmarks across a multitude of devices. The mouse gestures feature allows you to perform a variety of tasks with a right click and movement of the mouse. Opera panels gives you instant access to your bookmarks, history, downloads, and more.
Mouse Gestures Lets You Keep Your Mouse Pointer in the Browser Window
Using mouse gestures is a great way to speed up your browsing experience by not having to access the Opera menu to perform a number of functions. The mouse gestures feature isn’t enabled in Opera by default, which means that you’ll need to enable them from the setting menu. You can do that on the Shortcuts menu tab: Settings | Preferences | Advanced| Shortcuts. Clicking means clicking and holding for two seconds, at which time a helper overlay will appear. Some of the functions that you can perform with mouse gestures include the following:

Open the previous page in history by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse left, or clicking the left mouse button.

Move to the next page in the history by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse to the right, or holding the left mouse button and clicking the right mouse button.

Open a new tab by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse down.

Open a copy of the current page in a background tab by clicking the right mouse button and moving the mouse down, then up.

Reload or refresh the current page by holding them right mouse button while moving the mouse up and then down.

Minimize the current tab by clicking the right mouse button and moving the mouse down, then up.

Open the highlighted link in a new open tab or window by hovering over the link, holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse down.

Hold the right mouse button and move the mouse down then up to open the link in a new, background tab or window.

Cycle through open tabs by holding the right mouse button and rolling the scroll wheel.

Zoom in on a page or image by holding the key and rolling the scroll wheel.
Make Accessing History and Other Browser Features Faster with Opera Panels
Normally, if you want to access your Opera browser’s history, see a list of your most recent downloads, mail accounts, and may other features, you need to go to the Opera browser’s menu and scroll through the menu options until you find what you’re looking for. With Opera Panels, all of these features are just a mouse click away once you enable Opera Panels. Enabling this feature is matter of clicking the Opera Panels icon at the extreme bottom left of the Opera browser window. When you do this, you will see a list of icons appear down the left side of the browser. Some of the options that are now a mouse click away are:
